3 day weekend...

memorial holiday weekend has come and gone and now i am sitting at my desk at work on this cold tuesday morning. i've realize how i had zero rest this past weekend. i was hoping to sleep in and catch up on rest but that did not happen. the weather has been quite odd lately. friday, hot. saturday, cold and raining. sunday, cool and overcast. monday, overcast w/ a bit of sun.

on friday, i wasted 8 hours of my life at work. super slow due to the holidays and i wanted to work a half day but that didnt pan out. on a brighter note, i did manage to accomplish getting 3 stars for all the levels on angry birds rio in between surfing the web and watching hulu on my ipad. after work, took a nice lil' nap and went out for dinner at Felipe's...family owned mexican restaurant that i've been going to for years and it's legit. go yelp it so you can become a mayor, president, admiral, CEO, grand poobah, or whatever.

saturday, hit up arden fair mall. i dont really go to the mall unless i really have to but i wanted to check out some dress shoes that i've been eyeing for a while and see if i can score some good deals on sale items. came up empty handed but it was all good cuz i was looking forward to having dinner at Kru w/ the GF and her friends. Good sushi + asahi black = the business.

sunday aka sunday funday. havent done sunday funday in a while but it usually consists of me, gf, my sister, and close friends hanging out for the day. started off with brunch at Tower cafe. their french toast is the best i've ever had so if you are ever in Sac, make sure to check this place out for breakfast. i'm a firm believer in breakfast...you can eat breakfast at all hours. morning, noon, night..it doesnt matter. pancakes and bacon are good ANY time of the day. if somebody says otherwise, karate chop them in the throat. after brunch, we watched Hangover 2. i didnt have high expectations because with sequels, 70% of the time, they are complete garbage. so i kept an open mind and i thought it was a funny movie. good laughs but don't expect much as far as the plot. it's hangover 1 but in thailand. after the movie, hung out at nes' house for a bbq and chilled.

monday...went to the mall again. lol. my dad had to exchange some sperry's i got him for his bday and get his sunglasses adjusted. this time around, i bought the dress shoes (allen edmonds) that i've been wanting and another grey tee to add to my collection of tees. i have 3 main colors in t-shirts...white, grey, and black. i've got crew necks and v-necks of all sorts...different brands, color shades, type of cotton, etc...but all plain as far as color. no graphics. yah, i'm a weirdo. nowadays, i'll rock a v-neck, jeans, and chucks/jordans and be done with it. here and there i'll buy a printed tee and i'll get 2 or 3 wears out of it then it'll hybernate in my dresser until i need a sleep shirt or gym shirt. SMH.

anyways...after the mall, had a birthday bbq shindig to go to. great company w/ good friends and good eats. my friend angela made pulled pork and i made sandwiches out of them. wouldve been bomb.com with hawaiian bread rolls but no dice. settled to go the sloppy joe route and use hamburger buns. added some cole slaw onto that bad boy and i was set for the rest of the afternoon. we watched 127 Hours which was aight...note to self, do not buy an army knife made in china. oh, and don't go hiking by yourself. lol. also watched Hall Pass which was pretty damn funny. i've been hearing Bridesmaids is funny as well and is a male's version of the Hangover so i wanna check that movie out.

sooooo...that was my weekend. little rest. not enough sleep. ate like there was no tomorrow. but good times which is what matters. good thing this is a short work week and it is now time for my peet's coffee break so i can survive the rest of my day. deuces.

2k11

since i summarized 2010. i might as well summarize the past 4 months of 2011.

-january: kept it lightweight for NYE at a friend's house but definitely went HAM for rich's bday on January 1st. lol. i've come into the realization that at the tender age of 30, it takes me a whole day to recover from a night of drinking. what made the day better was being able to buy McDonald's for the first time in a year. #1meal...big mac, large fries, and hi-c orange. BOOM!

-febraury: vegas for valentine's day. my cousin's from the PI came to visit and they were able to experience what vegas was about...which was eating buffet for every meal. lol. wynn was damn good tho.

-march: gf's bday month. celebrated at Red Lotus for dinner and drinks with good friends. then went on a weekend trip to San Diego. it's been 10 years since my last visit and i've missed the weather and the vibe of this city. i like the "slow pace" lifestyle. for the brief 2 days i was there, i never realized what SD had to offer. i was able to get a little taste of it and i had a blast. 10 years ago, i wasnt old enough to go thru the gas lamp district on a friday night or had the money to do the tourist thing. there were so many restaurants and places that i'd like to visit...i'll be getting the opportunity soon!

-april: nada

Hi haters i'm back off hiatus...

so i am off my year and a half hiatus...lemme go thru a summary of what happened in 2010.

-brought in the new year hungover

-fulfilled my new years resolution of not eating fast food for the whole year

-failed at working out. p90x turned into p2x. lol.

-got my first dog...she's a yorkie named Brooklyn

-raced for the cure (susan g. komen) and kicked ass

-had minor surgery in july...don't worry i'm okay (obviously) but missed out on my yearly tahoe birthday extravaganza

-turned dirty thirty on july deuce deuce

-was thrown a surprise bday party by my gf and good friends (i've never been thrown a surprise party before and i it was a great pary w/ great company...big thank you to jeana, edleen, nes, rich, angela, OB, a.j., will, ashley, jeremy, pascal, cat, lerinna, and zeke)

-worked from home in july/august and realized that it is not for me. maybe if i had my own office, then yes. but being able to be on my own schedule with little structure, wearing my pj's all day, playing ps3 and watching tv, take naps, etc... was not working out for me and my wallet.

-went back to work in september and had a great month

-was in vegas in october for my cousin's bachelor party (congrats carlo and georgia) and was able to hang out with my SD/SF cousins

-november was a blur

-december was great. it was the holidays, christmas, spend time with the fam bam, and the traditional lakers losing a game on christmas day. oh...and i was able to sell a house to end the year off right!

-i'm sure there were other things/events that i may have missed but i live a pretty simple life which i'm really happy with.
