So today, December 31, 2009 will be my last day eating fast food. I wanted to celebrate my last day by eating THE best fast food burger. In & Out...i will miss you.
Also, goodbye 2009 haircut.
2009 had its ups and downs but it's time to start up the new year. I'm excited for what 2010 has to offer but feelin' kinda bummed cuz i'm getting old. lol. I was planning on keepin it chill tonight...but that ain't happening. Gonna hang out w/ close friends and kick off the new year on a good note.
Ahhhhhhh the McRib. I've been on the search for the infamous McRib for the past 3-4 weeks. I've heard rumors of this tasty sandwich popping up at different McDonald's locations. So i got my "sherlock holmes on" and my searches have all ended in failure. Now who is to blame for this travesty? Grimace? The Hamburglar? The Fry Kids? Or is it Mayor McCheese?
Ok, here's my dilemma...as part of my new years resolution, im giving up FAST FOOD. That's right folks, for 365 days starting in 2010 i can no longer eat a big mac with special sauce and golden fries, savor an in & out animal style burger, enjoy my late night cravings of jack in the crack 2 for 99 cent tacos, and adalberto's carne asada burritos and fries. My sister actually went thru 2009 not eating fast food and i applaud her.
A'la "gone in 60 seconds", the McRib is my Eleanor. So if the McRib miraculously finds itself here in sacramento in the year 2010, i'm screwed. Damn you Ronald McDonald!
As for my other new year's resolution...i'll post them up later.
Also, im getting a haircut tomorrow. New Do for the year 2010...
it's been a crazy week w/ christmas, shopping, family, friends, work, etc...the whole nine. i wasnt able to update my blog, so here i am...hope everyone had a merry christmas and got some cool gifts!
besides watching the lakers embarrass themselves on their home floor, i had an awesome christmas. i spent time with family and close friends and i was really into the whole "christmas spirit" this year. i just wanted to say that i am very grateful to have great family and friends to share life's moments with...it's a good feeling.
also, the lakers/kings game was really good. double OT and the lakers pulled off a win...thank goodness. living in sacramento, i wouldnt hear the end of it.
a couple more days until new years...what is your new years resolution?
so i'm driving to roseville for work and i always listen to my ipod while driving. i have different playlists but i like to put it on "random" to see what songs pop up. i'm stopped at a red light admiring the different christmas decorations surrounding roseville galleria, the fountains, etc...and this Nas song comes on...
"Can't Forget About You"
[Nas] There comes a day in your life when you wanna kick back Straw hat on the porch when you old perhaps Wanna gather your thoughts, have a cold one Brag, to your grandkids about how life is golden So I will light a cigar in the corridor of the crib Pictures on the wall of all the things that I did All the money and fame, 8 by 10's of the whole Rat Pack inside of a big frame Collidin' with big names that could've made your career stop All that, and your man is still here and I'm still hot Wow, I need a moment y'all See I almost felt a tear drop
[Chorus] When was the last time you heard a real anthem Nas, the millionaire, the mansion When was the last time you heard your boy Nas rhyme Never on schedule, but always on time
[Hook] These streets hold my deepest days This hood taught me golden ways Made me, truly this is what made me Break me, not a thing's gonna break me [2x]
Ohh, I'm that history I'm that block I'm that lifestyle I'm that spot I'm that kid by the number spot That's my past that made me hot Here's my life long anthem Can't forget about you (Can't forget about, Can't forget about you) [2x]
[Nas] Can't forget about the old school, Bam, Cas, Melle Mel, Flash Rocksteady spinnin' on they back Can't forget when the first rap Grammy went to Jazzy, Fresh Prince Fat Boys broke up, rap hasn't been the same since So irregular, how it messed you up when Mr. T became a wrestler Can't forget about Jordan's retirement The shot Robert Horry to win the game in the finals kid Some things are forever, some things are not It's the things we remember that gave the world shock They stay in a place in your mind so snug Like who the person was with whom you first make love
[Chorus]
[Hook]
[Nas] Unforgettable, unsubmittable, I go by N now Just one syllable, it's the end cause the game's tired It's the same vibe, Good Times had right after James died That's why the gangsta rhymers ain't inspired Heinous crimes help record sales more than creative lines And I don't wanna keep bringing up the greater times But I'm a dreamer nostalgic with the state of mind The past the past enough of it, aight then But nothing gives me chills like Douglas and Tyson Or Mike when his talk was live Or when he first did the moon walk on Motown 25
[Chorus]
[Hook]
[Nat King Cole sample] That's why, darling, it's incredible That someone so unforgettable Thinks that I am unforgettable too
this is just one of those laid back chill songs you can bob your head to and takes you on a trip down memory lane. while listening to this song, i just think about my life and how thankful i am to have great family and friends. LIFE IS GOOD...
so after a couple weeks of hiatus, i've finally caught up on my blog. i'm sure all of you missed me. errrr...whoever "all" of you are :)
to catch up on a couple things, it's December! it's been raining and it actually snowed here in Sacramento. so you know what that means?!?!? time to hit up Northstar to go snowboarding. can't wait...
Christmas is around the corner and im almost done with my Christmas shopping. this is my favorite time of the year. spending time with family, friends, and shopping.
November was not a great month for me workwise. my line of work has its "ups and downs" and this was the first time in a long time i doubted my abilities. it was a slow month for me and it didnt help that i took days off for vacations. i know, i shouldnt make any excuses but as soon as November hits, im in holiday mode. lol. things didnt exactly go my way but i started to pick things back up to close out the month of November pretty strong. it continued on to this month and i want to end the year of 2009 on a good note!
one last thing...all the pics i take are from my iphone. it may not be the best quality but it works. i just like to take random pics and i dont own a point and shoot camera, nor do i want to carry that thing around.
so in November i went to New Orleans for my cousin's wedding. November was a hectic month for me. jay z concert, went to NOLA, got back from NOLA and had to get ready for Thanksgiving, spent time with fam from the PI, and during all this...i worked 10+ hours a day. to top it off, i finally got an offer accepted for a house that i am trying to sell (more about this later). *phew* at the end of the day...it was good times.
i obviously lagged bigtime on posting pics of my NOLA experience and i decided to split up my posts to scenery and food. lol.
first off, i had a sh*tload of fun. the people were cool, the food was great, and the best part was that i was able to hang out w/ fam. didnt really do much site seeing besides hitting up the french quarter, bourbon street, a plantation, and food joints. it was a once in a lifetime experience...so here are pics.
peace out sac...
just touched down...
pretty cool picture at the airport
cruisin...
the river...
superdome WHO DAT!
the infamous bourbon street...where girls get their 15 minutes of fame and star in a girls gone wild vid. lol. NOTE: NEVER got carded the 3 nights in a row that i walked around this street. and i drank...ALOT.
had to light one up...
yup...your eyes are not deceiving you. thats a horse going into a bar.
hallway of haunted mansion
some statue of a lady chillin near a fountain located in a dark alley way. kinda creepy when you take a quick glance. so what do you do to make it less creepy you ask? put a hat on it of course... lol.
here are some pics of some of the food i ate while i was in NOLA. my phone ran out of batteries a couple times so i wasnt able to take pics of other food joints that i tried like alligator cheesecake, fried green tomatoes, bread pudding, fried catfish, and other goodness that i can't remember. i prolly gained 5 pounds while i was out there. oh well...time to hit the gym in 2010. lol.
strawberry brewed beer.
Brennan's...ordered a 3 course breakfast. this place was definately legit!
strawberries and cream
best breakfast ever!
dessert: banana foster
Acme Oyster House
ordered 3 dozen oysters...
ordered 2 dozen grilled oysters...
po boy
deep fried crab claws
dunzo...
had beignet's like 3-4 times when i was there. lol
im back from NOLA. chillin at work. got in late last night and suffering from a lil' jet lag. got plenty of pics from my trip and i'll post them up later this evening or tomorrow. 4 more days till' thanksgiving and i go up one pant size. lol.

last night, i got off work a lil' early to watch the lakers/suns game. i usually just buy chipotle or some sort of fast food for dinner but this time around, i decided against it. i was feenin' for cold soba noodles and tofu. so i got my "top chef" on and 20 minutes later...
you dont want to see me in no quickfire challenge padma! lol.
i missed my shows, parks and recreation and the office, but the lakers stomped on the suns so it was a good night.
i go to work at 6:30am monday thru friday (sometimes saturday) and i get off at around 6pm. do you know what this means?!?!? i dont get to see the sun. i get to work when it's dark out and leave work when its dark out. lol. only chance i see daylight is when im on my lunch break to grab food or when i get coffee at peet's or when i look outside my office window. this is my life...
back from fresNO and it was quite the experience. it was my first time in that city and it will more than likely be my last. the Jay-z concert was GOOD and im planning on watching him again in March 2010 in San Jose.
the line to get into the concert was long and we missed the opening acts (wale and j. cole) but sat down just in time for NERD who got the crowd hyped. as soon as Jay-z hit the stage, the crowd went bananas. he performed songs from the blueprint 3 and past albums. kinda bummed he didnt perform any songs from reasonable doubt. i have pics but it's on my sister's camera so i'll just provide a pic from my iphone. lol.
this dude is everywhere from music guest appearances to mixtapes, so the next logical step is to market himself on IQ tests. Gucci!
Burrrrrr...
this sacramento weather is on some katy perry tip...hot and cold. get it?
thank goodness friday is here. busy weekend starting with going out tonight for a couple of my friends bday celebrations. then off to fresno for the weekend for...
so im driving back to the office from my lunch break and what typically takes me 5 minutes to get back to work turns into 10 minutes. i get cut off by some lady and she decides to drive 10mph under the speed limit while we are in the fast lane. to top it off, she causes me to miss my light and be stuck on one of the worst stop lights in roseville. so this leads me to my conclusion that sacramento drivers are dumbasses. i remember reading an article in the sacramento bee about sacramento drivers being rated #4 amongst the nation as the most courteous. that may be true but it doesnt take into account dumbass drivers. it makes me wonder how they got their licenses and how much they put others in danger. i've driven in LA where its bumper to bumper traffic 24/7 and i've never been this aggravated.
p.s. the new lady who works at peet's...please step your game up cuz the iced caramel latte you made me is definitely not on point.
the weather is colder and we gained an hour of sleep which is always a good thing. lately i've been really tired working 10-12 hours a day for the last couple of weeks and i've been feeling the stress and started to feel like i was getting burnt out. so this extra hour of sleep was much needed. i can't believe it's already November. it's going to be a busy month for me...Jay-z concert in fresno, wedding in New Orleans, and turkey day with my fam bam.
i hope everybody had a fun and safe halloween. here's what i did for the past 3 days...
friday: put in a good day's work and was excited to watch the lakeshow game...only to see them get their asses handed to them by the mavs. wtf?!?!?
saturday: chilled and cleaned during the day. watched USC suffer one of their worst losses but was happy with the yankees going up 2-1. went to my friend's halloween party at night. good times with good friends. pics will be up later...
sunday: went to church. had lunch at my parents house. slept and watched football. had dinner at bangkok garden with my family to finish off the night and watched the yankees go up 3-1. 1 more to go...wasn't able to watch the lakers game tho.
this was the first week of my fantasy basketball...i dunno who i went against but im sure he/she will remember the 10-1 beatdown i served up. lol.
now that grace is gone, my friends are asking "why did you get rid of that car and what are you driving now?" allow me to re-introduce...jennifer aka jen aka jenny.
we've been together since 98. through thick and thin, she's remained by my side even when i was with grace. she's been around the block more than a couple times but she's been the "go-to" car for me and my friends. lol. whenever they had car issues, i'd get a call asking if they can borrow her for a couple days. me being me, i'd say "yes" but all i ask of them is to treat her good, be gentle, and make sure to fill her up.
one of the reasons i kept jennifer was because she is a cheap date and it keeps her happy for about 2 weeks. lol.
pics from her glory days. she was a f'n BEAST back then...
since last week was such a bust, i needed to go out friday and just have fun. decided to go to Kru for dinner and drinks. dinner was GOOD as usual...afterwards, went over to my friend's house to hang out. played kings cup, flip cup, scattergories, and just had a fun drunken night.
saturday, i had the fantasy basketball draft and was bummin' it.
sunday, went to church and went to Felipe's for lunch. ran some errands then decided to go to the pumpkin patch with my friends and their kids. this was my very first time going to a pumpkin patch! i know, where have i been??? anyways, allergies started to kick in so i called it a day. went home and watched the yankees make their way back to the world series and watched espn highlights.
